ABOUT VOID &
TIMBER
The Studio
Void & Timber exists at the intersection of subtraction and structure. The work explores how absence sharpens form and how material anchors intention. Each piece begins with restraint—removing what is unnecessary—until what remains feels inevitable.
This is not decorative woodworking. It is engineered growth shaped into quiet, functional presence.
Ref. 02 — Practice
The Maker
Void & Timber is a one-person studio focused on commissioned wood art and simple furniture pieces. The practice centers on proportion, balance, and material truth. Every decision—cut, joint, edge, finish—is deliberate.
Grain is treated as history. Structure is treated as language. The work avoids excess and rejects trend-driven aesthetics in favor of clarity and endurance.
Philosophy
Form is revealed by what is removed.
Subtraction defines silhouette. Silence defines emphasis.
Structure gains meaning through contrast.
Negative space allows mass to breathe. Light sharpens texture.
Material
Material carries memory.
Growth rings record time. Tension and weight give an object presence.
Void is designed absence. Timber is disciplined structure. The work lives between them.
IMPACT
What I make, and why it matters.
Functional objects shaped by negative space. Custom commissions tailored to individual homes. A well-proportioned piece can ground a room without dominating it.
